HOW TO WRITE IT:
Bathroom or Backyard
上 (God -or- Above Ground Pool)
IT’S A WORD!
让 (ràng) carries the meaning “invite; offer”, but it is also a word that can be used independently.
Here are some example sentences of this word in action:
Usage 1 – “invite; offer“:
shàng yíge rén ràng nǐ jìnlái le
The previous person let you come in.
进来- jìnlái- come in
tā ràng wǒ bāng tā gōngzuò
He’s made me help him work.
Usage 2 – “to give way; give ground”:
máfan nǐ ràng yixia
麻烦- máfan- annoying, an annoyance, in this case, a polite way to ask someone to do something, like saying “sorry to bother you”
These sentences are only meant to give you some context; you don’t need to think about them too much for now. Just know that you can’t truly learn a word until you start to see it in the context of a sentence.
