Question 5

What happens if I can’t complete the Challenge in 30 days?

Accepted Answer

There’s no major consequence! You get to have The Blueprint Lite (AKA Levels 1-20 of The Blueprint) for life, so don’t worry, you won’t turn into a pumpkin if you don’t finish before the end of 30 days. That said, we may give you a limited time offer to upgrade to Mandarin Blueprint Pro that expires before 30 days is out…so check your inbox ;).

Question 6

Do I need any prior knowledge of Chinese before starting the Challenge?

Accepted Answer

No! The only stipulation is that if you don’t know anything about pinyin (the romanized “alphabet” of Chinese), we’ll need you to watch a 60 minute pronunciation primer video to understand the basics. Still, that’s a part of the program, so the answer is that an absolute beginner can absolutely thrive in this challenge. Heck, intermediate learners can, too.

How long do I need to study each day to succeed in the Challenge?

Accepted Answer

Our recommendation is to study 60 minutes per day if you want to finish within 30 days – but that’s a big IF! You can take the challenge at whatever pace you want. Want to finish in 10 days? Spend 3 hours per day on it. Super busy and can only fit 30 minutes in per day? Finish in 60 days. The 30-Day schedule we provide is merely a reasonable middle-ground GUIDELINE. Take it at the pace that suits your life…but don’t have any ZERO days. Do at least one thing per day, even if it’s only for a couple of minutes. Building the habit for the long-term is far more important than doing long hours in the short-term if the result is burnout & quitting.

What happens if I fall behind?

Accepted Answer

There is NO obligation to stick to our 30 day schedule, so it’s no big deal if you “fall behind.”. At the end of the day, there are facts you need to learn & comprehensible input you need to get into your eyes and ears, but there’s nothing written into the laws of the universe that says how fast you must obtain those facts or acquire that input. Just try not to do zero, since it’s a big fat 0 that breaks the daily habit.

How do I access the course materials once I sign up?

After you sign up, you’ll receive an invite email to the Mandarin Blueprint Lite community with the Classrooms “Start Here” & “The MB Challenge” included.

Click the link, make your profile, and go to the “Start Here” course.

After watching the Start Here course, you’ll go to the MB Challenge Companion Course classroom & “Activate the Challenge,” which will give you access to The Blueprint Lite (Level 1-20 of The Blueprint).

Finally, in the MB Challenge Companion course, there’s a simple tutorial showing you how to get access to your flashcards, and then, you’re ready!

Can I use the materials on my phone or tablet?

Accepted Answer

Yes, everything is available via APPs on your phone, however, we do recommend that you use your phone & computer/desktop/tablet in tandem for the best experience. For example, you can have the course materials open on your laptop and your flashcards open on your phone, thus making it easier for you to quickly add new cards without having to switch between APPs.
