Thank You in Chinese – 谢谢 xièxiè

thank you in Chinese

If you are new to learning Mandarin, you might realize Native speakers have many ways to express they are thankful than just the standard 谢谢 xièxiè (thank you in Chinese).

Depending on your situation, there might be a better way to express your thankfulness, or you might just want to switch things up because you want to sound more casual or formal.

Here are some commonly used thank you’s:

感谢!
gǎn xiè!
Many thanks!

非常感谢你!
fēi cháng gǎn xiè nǐ!
Thank you very much!

多谢
duō xiè
Thanks a lot

麻烦你了!
má fan nǐ le!
Sorry for the trouble!

Example Sentences With Thank You in Chinese:

谢谢大家的来临。
xiè xiè dà jiā de lái lín.
Thank you all for coming here.

You can use these different types of saying thanks for making more meaningful connections both in personal ways or even in Business.

If you wish to say thank you to someone you know well, you might use the following alternative.

你太好啦
nǐ tài hǎo la
You’re so nice

If you know someone well, there are a few ways you can thank them more casually. Friends and family often use this phrase, so go ahead and express that you appreciate having them in your life.

没有你我该怎么办
méi yǒu nǐ wǒ gāi zěn me bàn
What would I do without you

You would usually say this to your friends or family, but you can also use it at work.

The next example is definitely more casual, so use it the next time you see your best friend:

谢了!
xiè le!
Thanks!
